What are Palmitoylethanolamide Capsules? Palmitoylethanolamide is a naturally occurring substance that appears to be produced in the body on demand in areas of pain. It has been suggested to have useful analgesic properties and may support pain management and anti-inflammatory. The chemical compound is often abbreviated as PEA, but this is not to be confused with Phenethylamine which is abbreviated under the same acronym. PEA is also isolated from peanut meal, egg yolk, and soy lecithin.

How Does Palmitoylethanolamide Work? Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is part of the N-acylethanolamine family and is synthesized and metabolized in cells through several enzymes and provides a multitude of physiological functions related to metabolic homeostasis[1]. N-acylethanolamines are endogenous biologically active lipids. Supplementing with PEA may help in the regulation of the body’s natural pain management system. The anti-inflammatory properties of PEA allow for a reduction of central and peripheral sensitization mediated by neuronal and nonneuronal cells[2].
After struggling with nerve pain for years, I decided to try PEA. I’m pleasantly surprised by the results—less pain and more mobility.
